How To Make Your Own Playdough

Beautiful weather here today in Dorset. Myself, Alfie and Holly headed to the park earlier this morning and went for a quick bite to eat at our local coffee shop – we had milkshakes, of course!

This afternoon I had to stay indoors waiting patiently (me, patient?!) for the Sky man to install our new Sky box & satellite. As you can imagine, Alfie gets pretty restless when stuck indoors, so I came up with an awesome idea.. Let’s make playdough! I’ll be including in this post what you need and how to make it!

You will need:

  • 1 cup of water
  • 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil
  • 1/2 a cup of salt
  • 1 tablespoon of cream of tartar
  • saucepan
  • food colouring (alfie chose 3!)
  • 1 & a half cups of flour

How to make it:

Combine water, oil, cream of tartar, salt and food colouring in a saucepan – heat until warm. Remove from the heat & add flour. Stir, then knead until smooth. ENJOY. If consistency is slightly wet, add a bit more flour. Very quick & easy to make – plus keeps the kids occupied, winner!

Please note: keep away from small children and animals.
