Today I thought I’d review the Urban Decay Naked Skin Foundation. I’m a big lover of base, If I had to pick one make-up item it would be foundation every time.
I bought this a few months ago when I visited my sister in Plymouth, I wanted a foundation which was reasonable coverage (blemish hazard here) and something which could last a long time and still look pretty good at the end of a long day.
I actually had this foundation tried on me in store before I bought it, as I was unsure considering the term ‘Naked’ to me, doesn’t sound like it would’ve given me the good coverage which I was hoping for.
In fact, the coverage of this foundation is pretty good, depending on how much you apply. It’s an easy, build-able foundation and the more you apply, the better coverage you will achieve!
There are 21 shades overall, my shade is 1.0 as I have fair skin. The price of the foundation itself I’d say is reasonable considering the brand. You can buy it from Urban Decay online for £27, but shop around as you could find it slightly cheaper elsewhere.
The consistency is between thick & runny, so pretty perfect if you ask me and a little goes a long way, so you don’t have to use too much when applying. It’s also very lightweight, so even if you were to apply quite a bit – it doesn’t feel cakey! Win win.
However – my own personal experience with this foundation was it didn’t last very long on my skin. I have dry skin, and after a few hours of wearing it, it became flaky and patchy, reason for this is because it has a matte finish, which doesn’t work well with my skin. I would probably recommend this foundation to those who have slightly oilier skin, as it is quite a dry foundation. If you do have dry skin, I’d suggest using a good, thick moisturiser to balance out the dryness of the foundation and it would possibly last longer. (I think I just didn’t have the right moisturiser to use with it!)
What foundation would you recommend? I love trying new products.
